How to pay with skins at checkout

Paying a shop with CS2, Dota 2 or Rust skins: paste your trade link, pick items and accept one Steam trade offer. Step by step.

Updated · SkinPlata team

You pay by trading items from your Steam inventory. It takes three steps, and nothing leaves your inventory until you accept the trade offer in Steam.

Copy your Steam trade link and paste it on the checkout. Not sure where it is? See Find your Steam trade link.

2. Pick your items

The checkout loads your tradable items for the game and shows each one's value. Items marked Not accepted cannot be used, see Why some items are not accepted. The total updates as you pick; send the trade offer when you are happy.

3. Accept the offer in Steam

We send you one trade offer for exactly the items you picked. Before you accept:

  • Check that the offer comes from the bot shown on the checkout page.
  • Check that it contains only the items you picked, and that you receive nothing back.

Accept it in Steam. Steam may ask you to confirm in the Steam Mobile app. The checkout updates by itself.

After you accept

Most trades go into Steam's trade protection for a few days. The shop is told at once, see My payment is on hold: what it means.

Stay safe

  • Only accept the one offer the checkout tells you about.
  • Never share your Steam password or Steam Guard codes; we never ask for them.

Keep the payment ID from the checkout page, see Check a payment and who to contact.
